what is neuropsychology?
Neuropsychology studies the relationship between our behaviours and the way our brains function. We each have different skills in attention, memory, speed of processing or problem-solving. These skills may be further affected by life events, such as trauma, injury, medical episodes or the aging process. A clinical neuropsychologist assesses a person’s strengths and deficits to build a helpful cognitive profile.
The assessment includes an interview and a range of cognition tests, which may last approximately three hours. The interviews take place in our Goodwood rooms in a welcoming, relaxed environment- it’s not like going back to school!
After your appointment, we process and interpret the data, and build a comprehensive report to help you and your referrer make informed decisions about your ongoing wellbeing.
